ARLINGTON, Va. — Jeff Hemming, President of Carolina Drone Academy, has been named as a finalist in the Training and Educational Professional category of the XCELLENCE Awards by the Association for Unmanned Vehicles Systems International (AUVSI). Jeff was selected from a pool of accomplished applicants as one of several finalists. Winners will be announced during the awards ceremony at AUVSI XPONENTIAL on Tuesday, Apr. 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. CDT at McCormick Place in Chicago.
“It is exciting to help businesses and government agencies to safely and responsibly employ drones,” said Jeff Hemming, President and Founder of Carolina Drone Academy. “Often times we hear from organizations that are unsure of the complexities of flying drones in the National Air Space. At Carolina Drone Academy, we are committed to streamlining this learning process and helping our students get a handle on the regulations, requirements, and the equipment. It is quite an honor to be recognized as an industry leader for Drone Training and Education.”
"The rapid growth of the unmanned systems industry is reshaping our future by expanding business markets, providing consumers with innovative solutions and even saving lives," said Brian Wynne, president and CEO of AUVSI. "The XCELLENCE awards recognize companies and individuals who are achieving remarkable results with unmanned systems technology to benefit our communities.”
XPONENTIAL offers a broad-based and balanced educational program brimming with cutting-edge content and inspirational insights, ranging from policy implications and technical challenges to use cases and best practices across vertical markets and everything in between. The AUVSI XCELLENCE Awards honor innovators in the unmanned systems industry, including individuals and organizations, with a demonstrated commitment to advancing technology, leading and promoting safe operations, and developing programs that use unmanned systems to improve the human condition.
“This is two years running that AUVSI, the largest unmanned systems network across the globe, has recognized our Drone Training & Education as an industry leader,” said Jeff Hemming. “Last year, Carolina Drone Academy was also recognized and received an XCELLENCE Award as a leader in Drone Training and Education as an entire organization. It is rewarding to know that we are making a difference and helping drone pilots and their companies to adopt this cost saving technology safely and responsibly.”
